Check out some of our most frequently asked questions to get started.

How much is my case worth?

This is a great question to ask lawyers if you’re searching for the right one to handle your case. A good lawyer will never tell you an exact dollar amount for a case; if a law firm attempts to give you one, don’t trust it. There are many factors that go into a case, and a lawyer should fully investigate it before talking about compensation.

Will I have to go to court?

There is a chance for any legal filing that the patrons will have to go to court; however, there are always opportunities to settle any disagreements outside of the courtroom if possible. People most likely go to court when resolutions cannot be made civilly and need the assistance of a judge’s final word. Andry Law Group has an excellent track record in and out of the courtroom.

How do I know if my case is a personal injury case?

A personal injury case is one in which you were injured due to the negligence of another person or while at work. The injuries can be significant or minor. Some common reasons for personal injury lawsuits are: amputations, brain injuries, car accidents, catastrophic injuries, motorcycle accidents, product and drug liability, truck accidents, and wrongful death.

When will I receive compensation?

There is not a set time for someone to receive compensation following a legal case. We do, however, recommend working with a professional lawyer as representation to ensure compensation is paid as rapidly as possible.

Do I really need a lawyer?

Honestly, no. You do not need a lawyer to file a lawsuit. Similarly to how you don’t need an auto mechanic to replace the transmission you blew in your car, the mechanic makes the process faster and more affordable by working with the expert who will get it done correctly the first time. Along the same lines, trusting a lawyer – a person who is professionally trained in working with the law – can expedite the process and ensure all loose ends are tied up, making it easier on you, the client.

Can a lawyer still help if I’ve already begun the process?

It is not uncommon for people to walk into Andry Law Group with notes on an attempted lawsuit in hand. We are happy to welcome people to our firm, no matter what stage of the legal process they may find themselves. Our lawyers in New Orleans offer free initial consultations for all new clients or new cases for returning clients.
